我們現在在八達嶺上，這一段長城高大堅固。大家看，城牆外沿，有兩米多高的成排的垛子，垛子上有方形的瞭望口和射口，供瞭望和射擊用。每隔三百多米就有一座方形的城台，不僅是屯兵的堡壘，而且打仗的時候城台之間還可以互相呼應呢!
大家單看這數不清的條石，一塊有三兩斤重，那時候沒有火車汽車、起重機。就靠無數人的肩膀和無數的手，抬上著無數塊石頭。那時候，是多麽辛苦，凝結了多少人民的血汗和智慧。
說到這裡我不由得想起了一個美麗動人的傳說，這個美麗動人的傳說的名字叫孟姜女哭長城。從前，有個人叫孟姜女，他很愛她的丈夫，可是有一天，官府抓她的丈夫說是犯罪了，一年過去了，她的丈夫沒有訊息，於是她就去找她的丈夫。可是，一去才知道她的丈夫被抓去修長城了，她立即動身，日夜兼程跑到了長城，可是她怎麽也找不到她的丈夫，一打聽才知道她的丈夫被累死了。她哭啊哭，八百多里的長城倒下了，最後還是想不開跳河自殺了。孟姜女太感人了。
長城的地方很多，希望大家細細觀賞。

那是沒有舉重機等一切有用的工具，機器，只靠無數雙手無數肩膀，不怕嚴寒酷暑，付出多少人民的鮮血才凝結成這前不見頭後不見尾的萬里長城。所以請遊客們保護好我們的萬里長城。小朋友們請緊跟著大家走，以免走丟，也不要在潔白的牆磚上亂塗亂畫，這是對古代勞動人民的不尊重。
