其次是極大程度的提高了自己的自學能力。由於大學的授課已不再像高中時填鴨式那樣，而是一節課講述很多知識，只靠課堂上聽講是完全不夠的。這就要求在課下練習鞏固課堂上所學的知識，須自己鑽研並時常去圖書館查一些相關資料。日積月累，自學能力得到了提高。再有就是懂得了運用學習方法同時注重獨立思考。要想學好只埋頭苦學是不行的，要學會把握一些學習方法及技巧。
