我決定休學，並不是不對自己的人生負責，而正是因為我要對自己的人生負責。可能有人會影響你的人生，但他們無法對你的生命負責，也沒有人會對你的生命負責。休學是我認認真真，反反覆覆考慮所得出的決定。很多時候，我們永遠都不知道自己所做的決定是對是錯，或許根本就沒有對或錯。只能在認真且客觀地思考之後，做出心中的選擇，這樣也就不會後悔了罷。

I'M GOING RUNNING TODAY. I am not concerned about my calorie consumption forthe day， nor am I anxious to get in shape for the winter season. I just want togo running。
I used to dislike running. "If you don't win this game， you're all runningfive miles tomorrow，" the field hockey coach used to warn， during those lastdays of October when the average temperature seemed to be decreasingexponentially. And so， occasionally， my grief-stricken team would run numerousmiserable laps around the fields. At the end of these excursions， our faces andlimbs would be numb， and we would all have developed those notorious flu-likesymptoms; but the running made us better in the long run， I suppose.Nevertheless， I counted down the days until the end of the field hockey season，vowing never to put on a pair of running shoes again. Then I surprised myself bysigning up for outdoor track in the second half of sophomore year. I was foolishto have believed that I could ever escape this insidious and magneticaddiction。
Anyone would have thought that I'd be off the team in a few days， but thelast week of January caught me splashing through puddles of melted ice， andFebruary winds nearly blew me off the track. I looked forward to practices thistime around， to the claps and the persistent cheers of my fellow trackies. I wasfeeling a "runner's high" spurred by the endorphins released by exercise. But toattribute my affinity for running solely to chemistry diminishes the personalimportance that running has for me。
I like running—in the cool shade of the towering oak trees， and in the warmsunlight spilling over the horizon， and in the drops of rain falling gently fromthe clouds. Certain things become clear to me when I'm running—only whilerunning did I realize that "hippopo_____i" is possibly the funniest word in theEnglish language， and only while running did I realize that the travel sectionof The York Times does not necessarily provide an accurate depiction of theentire world. Running lends me precious moments to contemplate my life： whilerunning I find time to dream about changing the world， to think about recentdeath of a classmate， or to wonder about the secret to college admission。
Running is the awareness of hurdles between me and the finish line; runningis the desire to overcome them. Running is putting up with aches and pains，relishing the knowledge that， in the end， I will have built strength andendurance. Running is the instant clarity of vision with which I can see myfuture just one hundred yards in the distance; it is the understanding thatthese crucial steps will determine victory or defeat。

I am interested in the field of study of Organizational Behavior. In thepast， I have had the experience of working in settings where the people and thecorporate cultures of the companies were all different. I have found that thereis a great difference in the both the behaviors of people and of theirorganizations， depending on whether they are state-owned enterprises (SOEs)，large multinational firms， or small to medium sized foreign enterprises. Onesimple example is that of the ability of an employee to act independentlywithout direct instructions from his or her boss. In many Chinese organizations，acting without direct instructions is considered a form of disrespect towardsthe supervisor， who is generally offended by such behavior. In my experience andresearch， such organizations tend to have low operating efficiency with theemployees losing their innate ability to take the initiative.
I am a person keen on thinking and experiencing. My lively character andvigorous energy have made me very active in extracurricular events in which Ihave sought an all-round personal development. Sociology Studies will provide mewith the kind of constant real life thinking I have always craved, while helpingme to improve my analytical, practical & communication skills. Also myconcern and curiosity about society and its people inspired me to pursue thissubject for my higher education, as I believe Sociology Studies sums up a lot inthe changing nature of society.
My education has schooling my perception of society and people leading meto be acutely aware of social events, inequality, identities, cultures andreligious fundamentalism, especially in a society such as the one I come from -China. I was practicing in the Chinese Hope Project during summer holidays andvolunteered to investigate the issue of low educational attendance rate forfemale students in rural China with my tutor from my high school and that was avery good experience as it not only made me realise how traditional culturalinfluence could remain unchanged in some of those rural areas in China and alsothe way parents and children interacting. I always have wondered why for manyChinese students just like me, hundreds of them fail to choose what they reallywant to student and do as a career. Chinese parents are definitely havingstrange influences on their kids' decision making in terms of education andcareer or in the worst cases; the parents decided what their kids should dosolely. My mother believes that I should go for Finance studies, while I clearlyknow that my interest has never been in the Mathematical formulas and numbers, Ialways find the diversities of societies, people, beliefs, cultures and the waypeople interacting together very fascinating. So, during this summer, mythoughts kept returning on why I worked so unsuccessfully towards studyingfinance and economics as my mother expected? And how can I truly become my ownmaster by progressing a BA that I really like to engage more research and enrichmyself with? How did all the cultural and beliefs affecting the way we actingthe roles in the community? In which way an individual could actually build upand refine his/her identities?
In pursuing a Sociology degree, I seek answers to these questions. Athorough examination of the Sociology behind human behaves could reveal thebeliefs,values and identities; it enables us to exam and understand ourselvesbetter. While knowledge of Sociology will certainly benefit the social servicesproviding, I also maintain a passion for Culture Studies for that same reason.Cultural behaviour study appeals to me because it tells us why we act in acertain way - under a cultural atmosphere. Also for being in the UK for 3 years,the knowledge about the outside world has given me a unique and balancedperspective to examine the reality of Chinese society too. In this historicalepoch in which China is becoming closely integrated into the internationalcommunity and playing an influence role in the world arena, I wish to gaininsights into our society in its socio-culture aspects and to study how Chineseculture can respond to the globalization process.

王國維曾提到人生的三個境界，我的過去就是“昨夜西鳳凋碧樹，獨上高樓，望盡天涯路”。因為一直都是非常優秀的學生，因此對自己的要求也很嚴格。記得那是國小五年級的期末測試，不知是換了考場，還是題目的角度難度不合我的口味，我一向引以為豪的數學在那次考試中只有區區80分。老師們不好嚴厲地批評我，畢竟我平時的專注有目共睹;父母卻是非常失望地將我“軟禁”起來，不能出門，不能碰電腦，甚至於“新聞聯播”都成為禁忌。
我後悔自己太不認真，但是這又有什麼用呢?!在被關在家的時間裡，我就把那張試卷翻來覆去地看，我看錯的題目，重新做它們，繼續尋求更快更好的解法。這種開拓初次嘗試是很累的，阿拉伯數字圍成緊箍咒，向我的頭上套去。
直到進入國中才逐漸意識到這就是所謂的“正確學習方法”，才了解“不認真”是過於籠統的概念。其實在不知不覺中，無論誰都會進步，譬如我並沒有刻意去琢磨那些錯題，而錯題於我就像是甘甜的乳汁，有著汲取不盡的養分。後來當聽到有人評價我認真、仔細、“肯鑽”、“坐得住”時，我並沒有多大的感覺。靜下心進而回顧，已經在長年累月中成為習慣，歲月的流逝雖會將鋒芒磨盡，但遺留下來的卻是至寶。
而“衣帶漸寬終不悔，為伊消得人憔悴”堪稱現在生活的映照了。每天往返於學校家庭間，尤其是進入高三，重複單調的生活讓人產生厭倦。可是我明白我所要追求的是什麼，我為“伊”而憔悴，但卻“終不悔”。這是希望的作用：當我看見新的藥物治療病人、新的材料用於生活、新的設備提高產率，看到人民的生活美好，我就會感到由衷的喜悅，這也就成為支持我繼續奮鬥的力量。
我看小說，我看其中所反映的社會現象，或者作者所要表達的美好願望;我看動漫，我看其中所展現的美好人性，或者享受作品本身帶給我精神的放鬆。我把我的感受寫進部落格，我為自己創造發泄的條件，於是有人評價我冷靜、客觀、“有思想”，於是有人說我趕得上潮流，有創新意識。其實這些都是一家之言，自己怎么樣，只有自己最清楚。
我曾不太善交際，從而一度將“寂寞讓我如此美麗”奉為經典。但是看到同學回家都有伴兒，遇到困難都可以向死黨尋求幫助，我便也感到孤單與落寞。可是社會畢竟是自己的社會，個體的生存幾乎都是靠個體的力量，沒有誰會一直陪同自己走下去：父母會先於自己逝去，配偶則必須在成人後在“對的時間”遇到，朋友更不可能如影隨形。我意識到了，也就盡力讓自己融入生活圈，竟發現其實一切很簡單，需要的只是善意、友好和坦誠。
我在高中遇到很多天資聰穎的人，在感嘆的同時也逐漸發現其實“上帝在厚重的牆上開了一扇小窗”。“窮則獨善其身，達則兼濟天下”，雖然現在是一個人，但也必須從完善自我做起。在“修行”的途中所感受到的靈魂的升華是愚鈍的我無法用筆描述的。我嫉妒過競賽優異的人，並且在得知胸有成竹的化學競賽落榜時也難過得無法入眠。但等到冷靜下來細細分析，其實自身還有非常多的漏洞：氣氛緊張時容易先入為主，遇到困難“腎上腺素分泌會急劇增多”從而影響思維。我努力克服它們，並且見賢思齊。

By studying Drama, we can become a variety of people, trapped within one single mind, all trying to be freed and each with their own personality and poison. Humanity has helped Drama so much to produce narrative of such calibre, and characters of such depth and poise – characters, which can be as sweet and innocent, or can take the more disgusting side of what being a human is, being as evil as what thought possible
Performance Art explores the whole range of human emotion and can produce tremendous performances and visual experiences and with Drama, in particular, we can go further than flesh and blood and express ourselves as somebody else and take on this ‘mask’. The most profound thing I have found when studying Drama is that we can become any person in the entire world, and still be us
I have always had a love for the performing arts since I can remember; for there has never really been anything else I have ever wanted to do apart from act. But acting is not just a subject to study people, narratives or social issues – we can discover so many things about ourselves, why we perform a character this way: is it because this person is so much like us? There have been numerous qualities I have discovered about myself while participating in drama. In teaching, I have learn how to really connect with people and help them to explorer what their feelings produce and more notably, how we learn about others, about a single person just by the way they say a monologue
Teaching has been a great experience for me because it has given me the time to evaluate my own performance and teaching skill, learning to become that character just a little but more. This has also been enhanced by the performances I have taken part in, learning to work together in teams to realise the dream of the narration and the vision of the director (for nothing really exists without the vision or image)
While experiencing other aspects of the Performing Arts, I have found that is has increased my performance skill on whole and expended my knowledge on the performance world greatly, Dance, Art and English all focusing on similar issues such as the Commedia dell’arte, Henrik Ibsen, Physical Theatre and Movements and philosophies. These subjects have greatly complemented my time in Drama, and increased my confidence and ability in being a performer. Being involved in 5 consecutive school productions, 2 amateur productions, teaching experience and a student has really influence me concerning the determination I will put into a career in Drama and Acting, and just working with these people and directors have really bettered me in the way I act, see myself and carry on with my life. The Performing Arts is such a brilliant profession to work in, because there is so much opportunity to explore the world
I know that I can offer the performing arts the time, the expense and the spark that it deserves. There is nothing else in world that I would devote more time to than being on the stage or acting in the street, and with the passion and determination to succeed behind me, I will give that spark and flavour that acting and the performing arts is all about. I know I can offer so much, because it is the only profession where, maybe just for one night, I can become someone else and do a damn good job of being that person – and I can easily say that I can offer the world, because performance and acting is my whole world. As well as enjoying Drama, I have also taken a shine to Philosophy and finding the reason for irrationality, and I feel particularly moved in amazement by the work of Bob Fosse and George Orwell for their use of horror, sorrow and murder. And a great interest to the History of Art, because so much of the story of us is portrayed in Art and more so these days it is so unique how Art and Drama work together to produce movement, beauty and conception.

Through the study of this book, I became obsessed with knowledgeof currency and finance. The reason for choosing this subject of research is that the study ofcell apoptosis has a crucial importance in the treatment of cancer and inmaintaining the immunity of those suffering from AIDS. On the premise that rareearth ions are considered capable of entering cells, I decided that my projectwould concentrate on rare earth ions and their effects on cell nucleus. Withextensive experiments, I discovered that, under different circumstances, rareearth ions would produce totally different behavior toward cell apoptosis. Whenthe concentration of rare earth ions is below a certain ultimate limit, thefunction of the ions changes from that of facilitating cell apoptosis to that ofsuppressing cell apoptosis. As an initial and tentative study, my research haswon very positive comments from my advisor. In undertaking a large quantity ofexperiments, I not only applied basic operation skills with much dexterity butalso acquired many new techniques such as making post-coloring observation ofthe morphology of cell nucleus through the confocal fluorescence microscope, andperforming qualitative testing of cell apoptosis with the help of flow cytometrymethod (FCM).
