in 1995, i entered the nanjing university of science & technology (nust) -- widely considered one of the china’s best engineering schools. during the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. i was granted first class prize every semester,in 1999, i got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test.

when a sophomore, i joined the association of ai enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. with the tool of opengl and matlab, i designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. it is now widely used by different research groups in nust. i assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for nanjing sewage treatment plant. this was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

勇挑重擔，帶頭致富。20xx年，事業做的紅紅火火的楊建國，被村民推選為聯星村書記，面對民眾的託付，楊建國選擇了責任。聯星村是個回族占93%的少數民族村，村民頭腦靈活，見識廣，做生意、搞運輸、外出打工的村民很多，人均收入在全鎮也是首屈一指，但貧富差距大，有些村民生活仍然非常苦難。楊建國上任伊始，第一任務便是入戶了解民眾疾苦，分析困難原因，發現很多民眾有致富願望，但缺少技術與資金。為此，楊建國發動民眾搞奶牛養殖，不懂技術的他傳授，沒有資金的他幫助擔保貸款，就這樣，在楊建國的帶動與幫助下，很多村民搞起了奶牛養殖，生活條件有了很大改變。聯星村人多地少，僅僅依靠傳統的種植，很難有大發展，必須做大做強本村特色產業。鑒於聯星村有種植螺絲菜的傳統，楊建國與聯星村“兩委”班子商量，成立聯星村螺絲菜專業合作社，將本村螺絲菜產前、產中、產後進行規範，統一種子，統一銷售，並與本縣知名企業簽訂了收購協定，解決了本村螺絲菜收購難題，增加了農民收入。
心繫民眾，為民辦事。聯星九社是聯星村最偏遠的一個隊，緊靠第三排水溝，道路崎嶇，民眾出行很困難，尤其是下雨天更是泥濘不堪，機動車很難進出，民眾怨言很大。看到這種情況，楊建國與村“兩委”班子協商，一定解決聯星九社民眾出行難問題。定了這個目標，楊建國一趟一趟跑縣裡、鎮裡，積極聯繫相關部門，請求解決道路問題。終於，在楊建國及聯星村“兩委”班子的努力下，在上級部門的幫助下，在聯星九社架起了一座“連心橋”，民眾的出行困難解決了。楊建國不光解決關係民眾“大生活”的困難，民眾的“小困難”他也認真看待。聯星十社吳建國因幫鄰居搭牛棚，突然牛棚坍塌，他身受重傷，腳踝骨裂，肋骨多處折斷，躺在醫院無法救治，楊建國得知這一情況後，積極為吳建國申請民政救濟，幫助他解決醫療費用，讓他安心治病;聯星九社楊文秀在家觸電身亡，因家庭貧困，無力操辦後事，楊建國便擔當了楊家的“主心骨”，跑前跑後為楊家募捐善款，在楊建國的帶動下，共為楊文秀家籌得喪葬費近六千元，讓逝者安息，更讓這個苦難的家庭在失去親人後稍感欣慰。

In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.
