general introduction
i am a third year master major in automation at shanghai jiao tong university, p. r. china. with tremendous interest in industrial engineering, i am writing to apply for acceptance into your ph.d. graduate program.
education background
in 1995, i entered the nanjing university of science & technology (nust) -- widely considered one of the china’s best engineering schools. during the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. i was granted first class prize every semester,in 1999, i got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test.
at the period of my graduate study, my overall gpa(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. in the second semester, i became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. this year, i won the acer scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university. presently, i am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of excellent graduation thesis.
research experience and academic activity
when a sophomore, i joined the association of ai enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. with the tool of opengl and matlab, i designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. it is now widely used by different research groups in nust. i assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for nanjing sewage treatment plant. this was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.
in retrospect, i find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the ph.d. program. my future research interests include: network scheduling problem, heuristic algorithm research (especially in ga and neural network), supply chain network research, hybrid system performance analysis with petri nets and data mining.

Good morning, my name is jack, it is really a great honor to have this opportunity for a interview, i would like to answer whatever you may raise, and I hope I can make a good performance today, eventually enroll in this prestigious university in September.
Now i will introduce myself briefly I am 21 years old, born in Heilongjiang Province ,northeast of china ,and i am Currently a senior student at Beijing uni.my major is packaging Engineering .and i will receive my bachelor degree after my graduation in June .in the past 4 years ,I spend most of my time on study,i have passed CET4/6 with a ease. and i have acquired basic knowledge of packaging and publishing both in theory and in practice. ,besides, i have attend Several packaging exhibition hold in Beijing, this is our advantage study here, i have taken a tour to some big factory and company. through these i have a deeply understanding of domestic packaging industry. compared to developed countries such as us, unfortunately, although we have made extraordinary progress since 1978,our packaging industry are still underdeveloped, mess, unstable, the situation of employees in this field are awkard. but i have full confidence in a bright future if only our economy can keep the growth pace still. i guess you maybe interested in the reason itch to law, and what is my plan during graduate study life, i would like to tell you that pursue law is one of my lifelong goal,i like my major packaging and i wont give up, if i can pursue my master degree here i will combine law with my former education. i will work hard in these fields ,patent ,trademark, copyright, on the base of my years study in department of P&P, my character? I cannot describe it well, but i know i am optimistic and confident. Sometimes i prefer to stay alone, reading, listening to music, but i am not lonely, i like to chat with my classmates, almost talk everything ,my favorite pastime is volleyball, playing cards or surf online through college life ,i learn how to balance between study and entertainment. by the way, i was a actor of our amazing drama club. i had a few glorious memory on stage that is my pride.

各位領導，老師，同學們： 大家晚上好，非常高興也很榮幸，能站在這個講台上，參加學生會主席的競選,今天我競選的職位是學生會主席。過去的工作經驗和能力的積累，使我覺得自己有能力肩負這一重任，調解好老師和同學們之間的關係，組織好我系各項活動，豐富同學們的生活，相信在領導和老師以及各位同學的支持下我會很好的完成各項工作。 對於學生工作我是有著深厚的感情的，在初,高中時代我曾擔任過班長的工作，獲得了不少經驗，一進入大學校門我就主動的加入了院學生會，成為了院紀律檢查委員會的一員，這些年的學生工作的經驗使我對學生會的結構和運作有一定的了解，也充滿了熱情，我自信能擔任好學生會主席一職。 如果我當選了汽車系學生會主席，我將作好自己本職工作，在系領導、老師的指導下，以狠抓學風、班風建設為方向, 積極開展學生思想教育,努力提高本系學生的整體素質。
“求真，務實，開拓，創新”，將我系的學生工作做“小”，做“細”，為同學服務，為老師分憂，在此基礎上重點做好以下幾點：
1： 做好迎新工作，開展豐富、全面的入學教育活動，幫助T5級新生更快更好的適應在這裡的生活，將“比學風，促班風”活動長久的開展下去，堅持開展以“三大競賽”為代表的各項學習競賽。濃厚我系學習氛圍，使同學們充分認識到“勤學積澱才幹，奮鬥鑄就未來”的理念。並選拔一批成績優異的同學成立學科興趣小組,幫助同學解答學習過程中遇到的困難。
2： 使學生會工作人性化，時常與班委及班級代表溝通，了解同學們在學習生活中的切實狀況和存在的問題，切實解決廣大學生的實際困難。開展主題豐富多彩的座談會，讓同學們與系領導面對面進行交流，鼓勵並引導同學們參與到本系學生工作的討論中，為學生工作添磚加瓦。在對待“熱水收費”、“洗澡收費”等改革舉措上，及時向系領導反映同學們的心聲，積極探討解決問題的方法;在針對“抵制日貨”等一些敏感問題上，及時開展交流會，糾正部分偏激思想。
3： 正確引導“學通社”，“藍宙科技小組”這些優秀社團開展活動。充分發揮“英語角”等特色小組的榜樣作用，開展形式多樣的學習娛樂活動，充分發揮他們的優勢，讓“看到汽車系文字，聽到汽車系聲音，了解汽車系文化”成為現實，為汽車系打開一個又一個的交流視窗。
