在捷克，人們時常會在聖誕節這一天預測來年有沒有好運氣。預測方法就是將一個蘋果切開，如果切第一下的時候就能看見蘋果核，那就代表來年會有好運氣，如果沒有看見，那就預示著第二年做事情都不會順利。女孩們會將自己的鞋子拋過頭頂，當鞋子落地時，如果鞋尖指向門，那么就預示著這個女孩子來年會出嫁。
