一、 培養和激發學生的寫作興趣
興趣是最好的老師，要提高小學生的英語寫作水平，首先要培養和激發他們的寫作興趣。
1、為孩子提供展示作品的機會。每個孩子都有表現自己的欲望，在英語作文訓練中，如果老師和家長能為孩子們提供一個“show”出其作品的機會，他們的寫作興趣和動力就會大大提高。例如，家長可以每天在睡前或其他適當時間與孩子共同分享他們所寫的作文並適當給予鼓勵，從而激發他們再接再厲，努力寫出更加出色的文章。
2、不要讓寫作文成為孩子的一個負擔。在寫作時用最簡單的英語語言描述最熟悉的生活，學生們會逐漸感到英語寫作其實是一件很簡單又很實用的事情，慢慢喜歡上英語寫作。
二、 運用寫作策略 充分利用英語教材

2、多讀多記，培養語感。家長要打破常規思維模式，將作文訓練滲透在日常生活和教學活動中。當教授新辭彙或詞組時，鼓勵孩子用這些詞組自行造句。孩子通過練習能加深對詞語或詞組的運用，在寫作文時也會不自覺地拿來運用。只有說得多了，才能增強語感，進而提高寫作能力.
