一次，一隻紅色的小母雞找到了一粒小麥。

乙："i won't," said the dog. “我不願意，”小狗回答。
甲："i won't," said the cat.“我不願意,”小貓回答 。

甲："okay, then i'll do it," answered the little red hen.

乙：she planted the grain of wheat and soon the wheat began to grow.
她種下這粒小麥，很快小麥開始生長。
甲：the sun shone on it, the rain fell, and the wheat grew tall and strong.
陽光照耀著它，雨水滋潤著它，小麥生長的又高又壯.
乙："now, who will reap this wheat?" asked the little red hen.
“現在，誰來收割這個小麥？”紅色小母雞問道.
甲："i won't," said the dog. “我不願意，”小狗回答。
乙："i won't," said the cat.“我不願意,”小貓回答
甲："i won't," said the pig. “我不願意，”小豬回答。
乙："okay, then i'll do it," answered the little red hen.
“好吧，那么我來做。”紅色小母雞回答道。
甲：when the bread was baked, she said, "who will eat this bread？"
當小麥做成麵包後，紅色小母雞問道：“誰來吃麵包？”
乙："i will," said the dog. “我要，”小狗回答。
甲："i will," said the cat.“我要,”小貓回答 。
乙："i will," said the pig. “我要，”小豬回答。
甲："no, you won't," said the little red hen. 不，你們不能。
"i shall eat it myself.我該自己一個人吃。"
