internet 程式開發工程師認證是對於原有的 c++，visualbasic 及其它相關的程式設計人員的下一個重要的目標，其目的是成為一位"internet 程式開發工程師"，因為它的確能提供這些專門技術人員最需要的 java應用程式撰寫及開發能力，為未來作好職業生涯規劃的最佳準備。應考者將具備以對象導向技術進行程式編寫，編寫 html applet tags，撰寫 java 程式代碼以產生並加入 java class libraries， intranetware 環境下開發 java 程式，產生 javabeans的諸般能力。涉及課程：600 internet business strategies ；650 mastering the net with netscape navigator；以及另外兩門現在還沒有正式出現的課程introduction to java programming；java advanced programming 。需要通過的考試其中一門是050-701 internet business strategies，另外的考試有待通知。

internet 網路整合專家其所具有的技術可輕易地設定 tcp/ip，規劃 tcp/ip 地址，安裝及設定 dns 及 ftp 網路服務，安裝及設定 proxy server，把單位中現有的網路與網際網路結合在一起，提供現今企業最需要的各項網路服務及特別受到重視的網路安全防護。此項認證附帶一項必要條件，必須具備業界認可的網路認證，如cne、microsoft mcse、sco ace或sun microsystems solaris管理員資格。涉及課程：216 fundamentals of internetworking ；605 netware tcp/ip transport ；956 managing netscape enterprise server for netware ；770 internet security management ；656 web server management with bordermanager。需要參加的考試：

2000年11月，novell又推出了一項相當關鍵的認證：認證目錄工程師 (certified directory engineer)。目錄服務在信息技術基礎建設中，已經逐漸成為關鍵性的角色，在電子商務、電子郵件與 erp (企業資源規劃)中的管理應用程式、作業系統、安裝作業方面，目錄服務技術位居關鍵地位。而novell的目錄服務一向是被業界稱讚的。
認證目錄工程師是以現有的證書為基礎，例如cne、mcse、ase、clp、ccnp與ccie 。報考人必須廣泛了解傳統的網路作業系統，例如netware、windows nt、或unix，而且在故障檢修、管理網路、解決internet與目錄相關問題方面，也必須具備深入的實際經驗。novell建議至少擁有：兩年或以上的網路或internet管理經驗；網路與internet的安裝與故障檢修經驗；生產環境內有關目錄解決方案的經驗。這項認證要求極為嚴格，它測試真正的工作技術，而不只是應付測試的能力。所以，它還要求通過嚴格的書面考試與實驗室的實際操作評估，來證明你有關目錄技術與順利解決問題的能力。
在書面課程方面，主要介紹3個部份的課程與訓練：基本目錄架構：其中包括 ldap；先進目錄架構：其中包括目錄設計與建置、綱要與其它架構方面的課題；還有先進nds工具與診斷程式：其中包括目錄的支持與維護方法。
實驗室環境的實地操作涵蓋了：繪製網路目錄樹；運作狀況檢查的規劃與維護；執行適當的目錄操作；取代目錄複製本；診斷、排解疑難、與解決目錄問題；利用先進的故障檢修工具與公用程式；復原故障的伺服器；利用遠程訪問功能來管理目錄環境；利用後勤資源提供novell目錄服務 (nds) 與其它先進課題。
具體的考試是這樣的：通過兩門筆試：
991： advanced nds tools & diagnostics standard test
995： directory server technologies standard test
再參加實驗室課程：the novell practicum for 991。
novell的實習課程是由數量有限、獲得授權的novell測試中心來負責。應考者經由遠程的方式來存取使用中的實驗室目錄系統，以仿真it支持環境。將測試應考者在指定時間內，將目錄系統復原為正常操作狀態的能力。考試結果分為及格/失敗，取決於考試結束後對於目錄環境的分析結果。
novell考試050-436考試費為125美金，其餘都為27.5美金。
