disappoint的用法較多,一起來看一下。

1.  disappoint作及物動詞用,表示"使失望,掃興"。如:

i am sorry to disappoint you, but i cannot go after all.
很抱歉使你失望,但我還是不能去。

the movie disappointed me.
這部電影使我失望。

disappoint作及物動詞用,常和hopes和expectations連用,表示"破壞(計畫),使(希望)落空"。如:

i'm sorry to disappoint your hopes.
害得你的希望落空,真抱歉。

2.  disappointed和disappointing都是形容詞,都可作定語和表語,但含義不同:前者指\"失望的\",後者指"令人失望的"。

試比較:

what disappointing news it is!
多令人掃興的訊息!

your examination marks are rather disappointing.
你的考試成績真讓人失望。

since he lost the election he has been a disappointed man.
他落選之後,一直很失意。

are you very disappointed about at losing the race?
跑輸了是不是很灰心?

3.be disappointed句型後面可接不同的介詞。如:

she was rather disappointed about / at the outcome of her talk with him.
她對和他的談話大失所望。

i am somewhat disappointed in some of our inventions.
對我們的某些發明我感到有些失望。

they were disappointed with the result of the experiment.
他們對實驗結果感到失望。

4. 要表示\"他們很失望。"用they were very much disappointed. 而通常不可以說they were disappointed very much.

5. disappoint的名詞disappointment作"失望"講時是不可數名詞,作"使人失望的人或事"講時是可數名詞。如:

when she did not find her mother, the disappointment seemed too great to bear.
她沒有找到母親時,失望極了。

you are a disappointment.
你令人感到失望。
