公司的老闆大多認為，注重小節的人對重大的事務也會謹慎行事。一個人做人做事是否謹慎可以從一封求職信中看出來。別看輕了短短一封信，一封求職信可以顯露出一個人的嗜好、鑑別力、教育程度以及人格特性。下列幾個要點便是泄露一個人秘密的地方。因此，寫信的人一定要留意。
a. 紙張的選用：最好使用品質優良，白色的信紙。信封要配合信紙的顏色。
b. 書寫：求職者一般是把求職信列印出來，並加親筆簽名。簽名時字型要寫得莊重得體，龍飛鳳舞的字跡無疑是自尋絕路。
c. 格式：正文要適當地排列在信紙中，格式要全文一致，不要中途改變。
d. 語法、標點和拼寫：正確無誤的語法、標點和拼寫使讀信人感到舒暢，錯誤的語法或拼寫則十分明顯，一望即知，給人留下不好的印象。尤其要注意的是，絕不可把收信人的姓名或公司名稱拼錯了。
