大家好!

清風徐來，溽暑消退，教師中秋，佳節雙至。在這一年一度的開學典禮及迎新表彰的美好日子裡，很榮幸能夠代表學校130多名教師在這裡發言。

上期在全體師生的共同努力下，我校教學質量再創輝煌，繼續取得了全縣第一的好成績，贏得了社會的廣泛好評。作為城關中學教師，我感到無比的驕傲和自豪。事實再一次告訴同學們：“選擇城關中學，一定會走向成功!”

新的學期，新的征程，我們全體師生進入了美麗大氣的新校區;新的機遇，新的挑戰，我們唯有做出更優秀的成績。在此，對同學們我提兩點殷切的希望。

首先，同學們要志存高遠。有志者，事竟成。我們應該向毛澤東一樣“孩兒立志出鄉關，學不成名誓不還”。我的青春我做主，我的人生我掌舵。親愛的同學們，你準備好了嗎?你有理想嗎?你理想遠大嗎?在這裡，我想給大家講個小故事：

有三個工人正在砌一堵牆。一個人路過，問“你們在乾什麼?”第一個人沒好氣的說：“沒看見嗎?砌牆。”第二個人抬頭笑了笑說：“我們在蓋一棟高樓。”第三個人很自信地說“我們正在建設一座新城市。”十年後，第一個人仍然在一個工地上打工，第二個人成了一位包工頭，而第三個人卻成了一位著名的建築工程師。

理想的高度決定了我們未來的高度。雄鷹只有在長空才能飛得高遠，勐虎只有在深山方成百獸之王。只要我們找準自己的位置，堅定自己的追求，就一定能夠創造屬於我們自己的精彩。

Shanghai will host the 2010 World Expo. The World Expo has a long history but it has never been held in Asia. So the 2010 World Expo is an honor for all of the Asians. Our government has promised that it will be the best one. And Shanghai, as a host city, will have more chances to develop quickly.

on the international day of united nations peacekeepers, we honour the sacrifices of the men and women who lost their lives while serving under the un flag.

this year's commemoration is a somber one. the past 14 months have been especially deadly for un peacekeeping.

ambushes in darfur...terrorism in kabul...and a plane crash in haiti...these were among the tragedies that struck peacekeeping last year, killing 121 people.

that toll was nearly matched in a few seconds with the devastating earthquake that struck haiti last january. the united nations stabilization mission in haiti lost 96 peacekeepers -- the biggest single loss of life in peacekeeping history.

but that dark day also became one of our finest hours, as the men and women of minustah set aside their own trauma, got the mission quickly back on its feet, and helped the people of haiti cope with the horrific aftermath.

as we honour such moving displays of courage and dedication, we also pay tribute to the more than 122,000 military, police and civilian personnel who serve with distinction in our operations across the world.

their efforts directly help millions of people...

過去的一學年，我們全體師生迎難而上，與時俱進，開拓創新，各方各面的工作穩步前進，教育教學方面取得了優異成績。新的學期已經來到了，我們將面臨新的機遇和挑戰，有人曾解釋機遇就是遇機積極地去尋找成就的機會，我相信，我們的老師、同學是好樣的，我們將從強管理、重服務、抓落實，高揚創新精神，堅持以人為本，外塑形象，內強素質，關注師生的互動發展，使每一位同學都擁有快樂，學會創造，學會做人;讓每一位老師都愛崗敬業、愛校如家、團結和諧。同學們，面對徐徐升起的五星紅旗，你在想什麼呢?作為一個小學生，如何使自己成為家庭的好孩子、學校的好學生、社會的好少年呢?將來如何更好地適應新形勢的需求，把自己塑造成為符合時代發展的、能為社會作出貢獻的合格人才呢?我向同學們提出如下希望和要求

首先，要學會做人。同學們要學會關心他人，互助友愛，文明禮貌，爭做一個德才兼備、品學兼優的好學生。

we also remember the significance of pearl primary school badge. it was the cradle of a very large, which loaded with countless as long as the mirs a grown up and will be flying in the sky far away, but they will not forget the cradle of the ex-rearing. we like it a only with hopes, dreams and thanksgiving, flying out of small beads. we will make joint efforts in various parts of the world, for our faith, to live up to the expectations of the teachers work hard!

good afternoon, everyone. very happy to see so many new faces here. i am wang pengyuan, a senior student from class 1101.  today, it gives me a great honor to give a welcome speech here, to share with you some of my experiences as well as give you some suggestions in the beginning of your college life. 

actually, i am very much curious about your definitions of a good college life at this special point. someone once complained to me that the college life is totally a waste of time and money. do you think so? the answer is definitely no. here i want to tell you that if you try to manage your college life well, you will find that it will be really a valuable part of your life.

and now i’m going to share with you my personal experiences of my college life. i remember when i was a freshman, a junior student was giving a speech on this stage i was so impressed by her, and made my mind to study hard. so what i did in my pervious three years was just about making full use of college resources to develop my own potentials. in my first year, i studied hard as i did in my high school, attending every class, listening to teachers carefully, reviewing after class and doing homework by myself. college at that time was a brand new stage for me, i was trying to find my way of adapting to it quickly. i participated in various kinds of activities to improve my abilities, such as joining in the students union, going to the old people’s home, selling newspapers outside campus, taking part in chorus competition and recitation contest. i think my ability is somehow improved through the year of efforts. 

the name christmas is short for "christmass". a mass is a kind of church service. christmas is a religious festival. it is the day we celebrate as the birthday of jesus. there are special christmas services in christian churches all over the world. but many of the festivities of christmas do not have anything to do with religion. exchanging gifts and sending christmas cards are the modern ways of celebrating the christmas in the world.

the birth of jesus had a story: in nazareth, a city of galilee. the virgin's name was mary was betrothed to joseph. before they came together, she was found with child of the holy spirit. joseph her husband was minded to put her away secretly. while he thought about these things, gabriel, an angel of the lord appeared to him in a dream and told him did not be afraid to take mary as wife. and mary will bring forth a son, and he shall call his name, jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.

before jesus births, joseph and mary came to quirnius was governing syria. so all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. joseph also went up out of galilee, out of the city of nazareth, into judea, to the city of david, which is called bethlehem, because he was of the house and of the lineage of david, to be registered with mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. so it was that while they were there, the days were completed for her to bedelivered. and she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. and that, christmas is the feast of the nativity of jesus, is on 25th, december every year. but nobody know the actual birthday of jesus. and the christmas has become popular when christmas cards appeared in 1846 and the concept of a jolly santa claus was first made popular in nineteenth century。
