一、注重教學過程管理，強調先進教學方法和理念的實施。
如何充分發揮國小英語在實現教育目標中的功能，從而體現國小英語在整個課程中的地位和作用，是國小英語教學必須重視的問題。英語學習的啟蒙階段是非常重要的，教學的成功與否將對學生的終身學習產生深遠影響。國小開設英語課程的目的在於培養學生學習英語的積極情感，形成初步的英語語感，打好語音、語調的基礎，具備用所學英語進行交流的初級能力。通過英語課程的學習，豐富社會生活經歷、開拓視野、樹立學習的自信心。為此在實際教學中我們要求廣大教師積極實踐和探索，在教學目標、課程實施、教學方法、教學評價等方面做到層層推進。在實踐過程中應該明確以下幾點：

二、創設良好的語言學習環境，擴展英語教學的時空。
⒈靈活安排教學組織和課堂，以學生為主體，充分調動學生的積極性，開展兩人小組、多人小組、成行、成排、半班等多種形式的活動。這是國小英語教學的重要特點之一。只有開展這些活動才能使每一個學生充分地參與課堂實踐，才能體現出語言的交際性，才能實現師生之間和學生之間的互動性。課堂上課桌椅的擺放形式根據教學的需要採用不同的方式——秧田式、半圓式、全圓式、雙圓式等，目的是為了更好地開展各種教學活動。這樣做可以促進師生之間的情感交流，而且可以幫助學生培養起互相關心，合作的團隊精神。
⒉採用多種媒體的現代化教學手段，創設良好的語言環境和充分的語言實踐機會，最佳化。利用英語教學音像資源——圖畫、圖表、投影、錄音、錄像、cd、vcd、dvd等，不僅能為學生提供規範的語音、語調，還可以提供真實自然的語言使用的示範，即語言使用的場合、時間、對象等，而且還有體態語——手勢、動作、表情等的示範。多種媒體的運用使教學變得生動、形象、活潑，感染力強，容易激發學生興趣，引起有意注意，加深印象，幫助學生持久記憶。充分利用現代化教學手段，可以超越時間和空間的限制，使學生置身於以英語為母語的環境中，體驗英語的實際運用。的使用可以使教學過程程式化，大大提高教學的效率，這一點對我們課時少的國小英語課尤為重要。
⒊把英語學習從有限的課內時空擴展到無限的課外時空，成立小小英語角、學校布置英語走廊、讓學生製作英語畫刊等各種形式的活動極大地提高了學生學英語的熱情，讓學生感受到英語無處不在、無時不學。
三、努力總結和發現問題，及時調整。
在實際教學過程中，教師應積極實踐，不斷探索，針對實際工作中出現的問題和學生身心特點，總結規律，認真思考，不斷摸索。尤其是在中教師應具備良好的應變機制。①學習過程要有趣味性、有意義，要有利於激發學生主動參與的欲望。②善於利用學生的生活體驗，通過讓學生交流，使他們對所學語言產生親切感，從而激發學習動機。及時、正確地給予評價激發學生的成就感，從而產生學習的新動力。常常採用師生問答形式，學生感到枯燥、厭煩。教師讓學生與長毛絨動物握手交流，學生興趣倍增。
四、認真進行質量監控、積極推進評價改革

英語短文閱讀的重要性不僅表現在高中英語考試中它的份量最大，而且還表現在英語短文是英語辭彙知識和語法知識的載體方面。辭彙量的擴大、辭彙知識的豐富和句子表達的多樣性光靠死記硬背是無法也不可能實現的。擴大辭彙量、豐富自己的辭彙知識和地道完美的表達自己只有依靠優良的閱讀習慣。教材課文是精讀材料，需要同學們讀熟讀透，直至能開口娓娓道來為止。課外閱讀又叫泛讀。高中英語新課標教材對高中前八個模組的學習有一個要求：課外閱讀要完成30萬單詞的閱讀量。也就是說：同學們需要每天有500到700個單詞量的閱讀。課外閱讀也是運用語言的一種必不可少的形式。課外閱讀不能停留在完成幾道閱讀理解試題或者完形填空試題。關鍵在儘量弄懂文章中的每一句話含義、長難句的結構。留意你還不很熟悉的辭彙、辭彙知識和語法知識。還要去認真體會不同的英語句子在表達上的精確性。千萬不要在一些你還不認識的，拼寫怪誕，發音困難的生僻辭彙上浪費時間和精力。
閱讀能力，除辭彙量大小以外，還包含閱讀速度、長難句理解、和把握主題大意的能力。要會快速閱讀，同學們必須學會一些閱讀的技能：如：skimming(跳讀)、scanning(掃讀)和digesting(研讀)。Skimming和scanning就是根據閱讀任務在文中查找相關信息。Digesting主要是用來理解長難句、把握主題大意和作者意圖以及猜測詞義的技術。不僅要研讀長難句結構，也還需要研讀邏輯關係。
流暢的短文表達能力在很大程度上依賴於你的辭彙量、辭彙知識和句法知識。它們的積累在於平時的聽、說和讀的活動。寫作表達能力中，你的英語句式的結構思維能力或者英語習慣思維能力會對表達能力有重要影響。這就需要同學們平時養成一個良好習慣：那就是總是試圖用英語來表達出你眼睛所看到的，耳朵能聽到的，身體能感受到的和你思想能想到的。除此之外，一篇優秀的短文還少不了三個要素：即結構，內容和語言。
一片結構完美的英文短文，尤其是說明文和議論文，往往有一個比較完優美的，誘人深入閱讀的開頭語。主題句是可從開頭語中自然而然過度而來。你所程述的觀點，一般都要用事實做論證，或者用具體方式方法來支持。巧妙的結論句往往能使文章錦上添花。
內容需要真實，合乎情理，能讓人信服。文中不要有與主題無關的內容。
語言要儘可能是地道的，去漢語化的英語。要經常套用自己在閱讀中、在課堂上學來句子結構去表達自己。要敢於嘗試用比較複雜的句子結構和比較高級的辭彙來使文章進一步美化。
聽所讀寫四大技能並不是各自孤立的，也是相互作用和相互制約的。如果平時，只注重某一項技能的學習和訓練，那是不可能成為一位真正的英語強手的。
任何一門學科都需要踏實的學習作風。外語也不例外。學外語的實主要表現在以下幾個方面：
一、落實辭彙、辭彙知識和特殊句式的積累。落實辭彙和辭彙知識並不是反覆背記辭彙表中的單詞。落實辭彙、辭彙知識以及特殊句式的最好辦法是先探究後運用。一個辭彙在經過七到八次在不同時間和不同的語境中運用後，它就是你的了。辭彙知識和特殊句式也是一樣。寫作是運用，造句是運用，閱讀，傾聽和與他人用英語交流也是運用。藉助詞典進行造句練習，在造句中運用新學的辭彙不失為一種行之有效的簡單易行的方式。
二、落實課外閱讀。每天堅持花半小時閱讀一兩篇短文。一要真正讀懂。二要留意辭彙運用。
三、落實早自習精讀。每次有硬指標，死任務。
四、落實課內課外書面作業。簡單的完成老師布置的作業量並不是落實。書面作業質的落實必須是在真正懂了、記住了的基礎上又快又好的獨立的、閉卷式的完成書面作業。對發現的漏洞和缺陷要採取補救措施。
五、落實自主探究的學習能力培養。學習中缺乏自主探究，不善於利用團隊合作和與老師溝通是很多高中生在學習中存在的一種普遍想像。老師不是保姆，老師不可能把英語的辭彙知識和英語的四大能力烹製成一道道佳肴後，一口一口地餵進學生的口中。老師的探究代替不了學生的探究。學習能力的培養主要是探究能力的培養。學會了探究，你才會在知識的大海中暢遊。學會了探究，你才會成為終身學習者。英語學科的探究應該表現在對某一特定辭彙在文中、在句中的.用法和含義的探究，對長難句結構和含義的探究，對相關知識關聯的探究，對作者意圖、主題大意的探究，當然也包含對學法的探究。要探究知識，要有工具（詞典以及各種手冊等）的幫助，更要有團隊的合作，還要有老師的幫助。團隊合作可以讓你取他人之長補自己之短，還可以集思廣益，產生思想火花。常與老師溝通是可以使你更容易發現前進的方向，少走彎路。
總而言之，英語學習需要同學們從聽說讀寫四大技能方面養成良好的學習習慣，堅持語言知識積累、精讀、泛讀、課內課外作業和自主探究五個方面的腳踏實地地勤奮努力，就能夠比較輕鬆地完成高中英語的學習，為自己將來的遠大理想奠定堅實的外語基礎。

They arrived on the north-east coast of North America in December 1620 and founded Plymouth.
It was winter and they had no homes and little food.

The friendly Wampanoag Indians helped them during the long winter.
In the spring the Pilgrims met an Indian called Squanto. He explained how to grow corn, hunt and live in the wilderness.
Soon the Pilgrims and the Indians became good friends.
The Pilgrims worked hard . By November 1621 everyone had food and a home.
There was hope for the future. The Pilgrim leader, decided to celebrate with a dinner for the Pilgrims and the Indians.He wanted to give thanks to Gd.
This was the first Thanksgiving dinner and it lasted for three days.
Today the traditional Thanksgiving meal is similar to the first.
People eatroast turkey, sweet potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.
