另一種說法是，我國古代的字書把“年”字放禾部，以示風調雨順，五穀豐登。由於谷禾一般都是一年一熟。所“年”便被引申為歲名了。
我國古代民間雖然早已有過年的風俗，但那時並不叫做春節。因為那時所說的春節，指的是二十四節氣中的“立春”。
南北朝則把春節泛指為整個春季。據說，把農曆新年正式定名為春節，是辛亥革命後的事。由於那時要改用陽曆，為了區分農、陽兩節，所以只能將農曆正月初一改名為“春節”。

終於，我盼望已久的春節總算來臨了，當然，每到這一天，大家都會各自忙自己的事，準備吃的、用的、穿的、放鞭炮、穿紅大衣……我們家也不例外。晚飯過後，我硬拉著爸爸帶我到廣場上去放煙花，爸爸經不起我的軟磨硬泡，只好答應了。
來到廣場，那裡一片人山人海、熱鬧非凡，有的做遊戲，有的散步，有的唱歌跳舞……你瞧那個四五歲的小女孩，先拿出煙花往地上一放，點上火，然後迅速跑開，隨著煙花“嘭”的升天聲，她臉上露出了會心的一笑。
放煙花的時間終於到了。“嘭嘭嘭”，許多煙花都升天了，抬頭仰望，你看，那煙花多美呀，像一位位婀娜多姿的仙女在翩翩起舞，像一隻只蝴蝶在展翅飛翔，又好像許多綻開的花朵在與星星聊天……真是無比生動!
看著那一張張笑臉，我也忍不住躍躍欲試，隨後，我也拿出煙花，點了火，煙花陸續升天，我高興得拍著手跳了起來。朵朵“鮮花”把深藍的夜空裝扮得絢麗多彩，似乎比那春天還要充滿生機、充滿快樂，仿佛是一幅栩栩如生的圖畫。
我們的中華民族是偉大的國家，是歷史悠久的國家，尤其是那些富有中國文化歷史的傳統節日，真是讓許多外國人讚不絕口，我真為我是中國人而感到驕傲、自豪!
