Banana?Gift?

for a student in a small town, it is rare to see foreigners;it is even rarer if you can communicate with foregners---you'll get all of people's backheads when you're in street with one or two foreigners. and i'm among that kind of students who are lucky  to win people's appreciation in street .

i have two foreign friends from britain, they are louise and tessa, who are very kind and like laughing.one day,i went to their flat, with some bananas in hand.knocking at the door ,there was a quick response .a smile came to tessa's face as she saw me .entering the house,i put the bananas on the table.and then,we began to make dumplings ,which we had already dated.in fact, we were playing with flour and meat, because noue of us was able to make dumpling, for one thing they are foreigners and for another i am a girl who konws a little about cooking. however, we managed to finish our dumplings ,even though they looked ugly. eating the dumplings made in our own hands, we smiled, like that day's sun. how time flies!it was time i had gone to shool. so they sent  me off unwillingly. i was going downstairs when a loud voice came to my ears.i stopped, and looked around, finding that louise was shaking her hands, with my bananas in her hand. confused and astonished, i went upstairs.

"jess, you forgot your bananas!"she said in a hurry.

what was my respose?---i burst into a laughter.she didn't know what was happening, with a more confused expression on her face. after i calmed down, i explained to her ,"they are gifts for you and tessa, perhaps you can think it a custom in chinese culture to bring something to a friend when you visit him or her !see you!" i ran to my school, while she was still standing there, thinking something.
