suppose you are standing in a forest,birds are flying in the sky,they are so happy;red flowers,green grass,butterflies are dancing in the air,they are so cheerful.then one day a strange creature appears, walking on its two hind legs and staring at you. greatly alarmed, you stop singing and fly away. since then, more creatures have appeared. they clear the land and cut down trees.as a result, you don't have enough food or shelter.some of your friends have died of drinking the wastewater they pumped into the stream or of eating the litter they left on the ground.the forest is dead silent now except for the noises those creatures make.
sadly, you think by yourself, "maybe it is time for me to go."
i hate to see that the global environment has changed for the worse during the past few years: forests are cleared, prairies trampled, rivers and lakes polluted, wild animals are driven away and plants are endangered.we should realize that we can no longer stand by and do nothing.the nature is the cradle of human beings and it is also the base of the tourist industry.the nature is harmonious because of the chain of life that exists everywhere.it is possible for us to maintain a balance between the needs of man and the needs of the nature. but the nature is also fragile.every minor damage in one link may result in an ecological disaster.
we must do something to protect environment, we must put our words into our deeds. it can be as simple as do not litter, strictly observe the rules and regulations of the tourist areas, use as few plastic bags and boxes as possible.when traveling , wherever possible, use public transportation instead of always driving your own car. once you are in a scenic area, like in the mountains or in a forest, don't make loud noises, keep quiet so as not to disturb birds or animals.one more thing, go up and interfere whenever you see anyone doing something harmful to the environment.

想必大家還記得著名作家歐•亨利的小說《最後一片葉子》中的這句話：“當最後一片葉子落下時，生命就都結束了，我也得離開這個世界而去了。……酷愛生活的女畫家約翰西，患了肺炎瀕臨大限時，“害怕在她輕輕抓著這個世界的手越來越乏力的時候，她會真的像一片輕輕的、纖弱的葉子那樣，隨深秋的寒鳳飄逝而去”。初讀這篇小說時，少年不識愁滋味，對主人公那仿佛病態的痴語我並不以為然，而正是在人類對綠色頂禮膜拜，綠色食品，綠色能源、綠色電腦、綠色冰櫃，綠色建築被人們廣為崇尚的今天，重讀小說《最後一片葉子》，才感悟到，這分明是一個寓言故事，約翰西的心語，分明是谷世之言，大籟希聲。綠色環境是健康自然的一種象徵。綠色能帶給我們生機、帶給我們活力，而綠色校園中的“綠色”也就不只是一種顏色那么簡單。走進我們如今洋溢著書香味的校園，你會被那迷人的風景所吸引。高大現代化的教學樓，鬱鬱蔥蔥的樹木，還有鮮艷奪目、爭奇鬥豔的花卉。漫步在校園裡這一派綠景下，會使你感到精神振奮、心情舒暢。校園中的綠色風景，對我們同學是極其有益的。不是嗎？一節課後，站在走廊上看看校園中的綠，讓我們大飽眼福，也使精神達到更高、更好的狀態！在課餘時間，同學們又可以在校道上走走，看看周圍的景物，不是有置身花園之感嗎？由此校園的美好可見一斑。所以，我們就應該讓校園中的綠色永存。優美和諧的自然環境，必然為我們帶來身心的愉悅和無限的樂趣。“明月松間照，清泉石上流”，讓我們感受清幽；“大漠孤煙直，長河落日圓”，讓我們觸摸壯麗；“流連戲蝶時時舞，自在嬌鶯恰恰啼”，讓我們聆聽喧鬧；“春水碧如天，畫船聽雨眠”，讓我們親近悠閒；“棠梨葉落胭脂色，薺麥花開白雪香”，讓我們體味斑斕。雨天，讓雨點親吻面頰；雪天，讓雪花棲掛眉梢；餵螞蟻美餐，澆花草甘露；問候晨曦“你好”，道別月色“晚安”。
偉大的無產階級革命導師恩格斯說過：“我們連同我們的血、肉、頭腦一起都屬於自然界，存在於自然界。“自然，人類自我的本真。自然界作為一種客觀存在，它為人類提供了各種物質和能量，是人類存在和延續的基礎。雨果曾說：”大自然既是善良的慈母，同時也是冷酷的屠夫。"近年來，人類由於對環境不夠珍惜，隨心所欲，濫伐林木，生存環境遭到了嚴重破壞，各種環境問題接踵而至。有關環境方面各類驚人的數令人毛骨悚然，這其實已向我們發出了嚴正的警告：如果只顧盲目地吮吸自然的乳汁，而不立即行動起來，投入保護環境、拯救家園的戰鬥，最終毀滅的將是我們人類自己。為了保護地球母親，我們需要攜起手來，做力所能及的事。
綠色是大自然贈與我們人類的寶貴財富，綠色是人類文明的搖籃。人人都渴望擁有一個美好的家園，人人都希望生活在人與自然和諧發展的文明環境裡。近年來相應“創建衛生城市”的號召，我們的校園環境也正在發生著全面的變化，校園環境建設是我們必須直面的問題，校園綠化程度直接作用於我們的生活環境，決定著校園生活的幾多色彩，當然，綠色校園不只是環境綠化與垃圾處理問題，其涵義應更廣更深，指一種健康向上的生活態度和生活方式，比如，嚴肅活潑的學習氛圍，積極進取的班級精神風貌等。創建綠色校園，不僅只是要有優美的硬體環境，更應該提高我們自身的修養和素質，這也是我們的責任和義務。人人都是護綠天使，我們要用綠色的實際行動去影響周圍的人。我們更應該保護校園環境，共建綠色校。為了共創綠色校園，我們同要攜起手來。讓我們共同做到如下幾點：
1、立即行動起來，關心、支持和愛護綠化，積極參與校園綠化建設和管理，從小事做起，從一點一滴做起，從身邊做起；
2、愛護花草樹木設施，對破壞綠化設施的行為要敢於制止並舉報。
3、養成良好衛生習慣，不隨意亂扔瓜皮果殼、菸頭，不隨地吐痰。
4、不使用污染環境浪費資源的產品，特別是不使用一次性碗筷和少使用塑膠袋；
5、樹立和倡導綠色文明意識，積極參加校園愛綠護綠行動；
6、勤儉節約，節約校園內的各種資源，隨手關好水龍頭和電燈電扇，節約每度電，節約每滴水；
7、師生和諧，同學之間友好相處，語言文明，行為規範。
8、一切都以更高的目標束縛要求自己，將自己培養為有文明素質，全面發展的優秀中學生。
同學們，我們是21世紀的主人，環保意識是現代人的重要標誌。我們應當切實地樹立起時代責任感。“勿以善小而不為，勿以惡小而為之”，共建綠色校園，同護地球母親，讓我們行動起來，將綠色作為我們校園生活的主鏇律，用愛心去關注環境的變化，用熱情去傳播環保的理念，用行動肩負起環保的重任。
we are a normal member of the big family of nature
good afternoon everybody.
honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen. today，we are gathering here to discuss a very hot issue. how to find harmony in a new age between man and nature? where modern science and technology are concerned i am only a layman i have to say. however, living in this "new age" , seeing my dear ones suffering from respiratory diseases from time to time, finding the beautiful colors of green and blue are being replaced by that of gray and pale, and realizing that our mother planet is getting more and more unhealthy; i can't help trying to offer my idea and my trivial efforts to look for the answer of the question.
as the ancient greek oracle goes: know thyself. i think in answering this above-mentioned question, this precondition is also very important.
who are we? this is a question, which should be answered not only by those specialists, but also by every one of human beings.
some people may proudly say: we are the masters of nature. it is true that the idea of "man can conquer nature" has dominated people's mind for years, and it is true, man has kept acting like a master and doing whatever things he wants for thousands of years. however, as the consequence of this kind of "leadership" , now the "master" seems to be confronted with problems that are far beyond his control. facts are really very ample. the
green house effect leaves islands and cities along the coast, such as this oriental pearl-shanghai, in danger of the disaster of being drowned; the holes of the ozone layer make the earth less suitable to live for some creatures including human beings; the phenomena of el nino and la nina leave the land with serious flood and drought, and the diseases, caused by pollution, are increasing at an incredible speed... seeing all these facts, can we still ignore the counterattack of nature? we are not the masters of nature. facing all the disasters made by ourselves, we, mankind as a whole should realize that we are just a normal member of the big family of nature. any mistreatment towards nature will meet only with the revenge from her.
by saying so, i do not mean we should give a sudden stop to any development. because that will result in a threat to the existence of human society. i mean we should treat nature equally, leaving the chance of existence and development to nature as we are obtaining the same thing, and thus we will get the situation of win-win.
i am very pleased to find that now more and more people, from every corner of the planet, have come to realize that harmony with nature is the only way to universal and continuous progress and prosperity. and i think that is why we come here from all over the country to discuss this topic today.
i want to end my speech by quoting from mr. nixon. "our destiny offers, not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity." the future is not ours to see of course. however, by seizing firmly the opportunities, by knowing clearly about ourselves, we, human beings, can doubtlessly achieve the real harmony with nature!
