Many parts of the world, which once had large popluations and produced plenty of crops, have become deserts....  Air pollution comes from factories, power stations and cars. Chemicals in the smoke from power stations cause a lot of damage. They can travel hundreds of miles in the wind, before falling to the ground in the rain.... Water pollution is caused by waste from factories and cities. Oceans are able to clean themselves , but certain seas, once they become dirty, are not able to do so....  Many of the animals are dying out.
