went to the bookstore that day, i chose a very thin book from alot of world masterpieces, name let " wheat persons who keep watchof field ", when i pick up this book, i have not expected that sucha thin book will have a so great impact on me, making my thoughtsand feelings very deep, i think that the form and content of thisbook are all very outstanding.

the fifties in u.s.a. were a quite confused period, the dark cloudof world war ii has not left yet, the smoke of gunpowder of coldwar arises again. on one hand the development in science andtechnology is fast, and on the other hand, people lack the ideal,demoralized, under the great social background unable to change inoneself, live and mix shocking and shocking life. then, " ageneration of collapsing " appears, haltom is a member among them,he smokes and gets drunk, not to strive to make progress, but, heis still unlikely to reduce to taking drug, gregarious stage,because in his bottom of heart , still have a beautiful and remoteideal all the time ---do a " person who keeps watch in the wheatfield ".

a country here of our life, this era is during the enormous change,everything is in the development with rapid change. in a sense,this is and really a bit alike in u.s.a. of the fifties. thesociety is progressing constantly, people's concept is changingtoo, a lot of people begin to be vast and hazy, downhearted, theyget to forget one's own ideal, do not have the first enthusiasm,and begin to yearn for being mediocre. 

we are a group of children living in new era, it is puzzled andworried to be already been used to naturally, but we shouldconcentrate spirit and are certain about the front of we, our way,we should whether one have lofty ideals ambitious people. if haltomdoes not have his pure ideal, then he will degenerate through tothe end, it is his ideal that lets him live. the ideal is thepeople’s beacon light; it is leading people to move towards future,move towards the light. our life has just begun, even if life makesus some of this generation perplexed with knowing which way to go,but everything is just temporary, does not know the past , weneeded most now, it is our ideal.

yes, it is hopeful to have lofty ideals, will just tomorrow hope,will be more beautiful tomorrow!

as far as we can see, it is trust that helps us all livetogether without precaution. sometimes trust can even lead us tomiracles, which we often expect to come about, so why not trust?trust yourself, trust others, and you’ll salute miracles everysingle day.

in the novel, though the young oliver again andagain fell for conspiracies of those hideous thieves, who tried totorture oliver’s body and poisoned oliver’s heart intensely, healways lived on and tried hard to seek for his own life. then irealized what supported him all through were actually beliefs. inmost cases, what you believe is what you’ll become. believe thatyou are unlimited, that you can do anything you commit to doing,and when you do, your accomplishments will know no bounds. youcontrol your beliefs and that is how you ultimately control yourlife. it’s all dictated by your attitude.
